I love the driftwood. Whenever I come here I always feel like Don Draper on a secret rendezvous to meet my mistress who will be wearing sunglasses inside and smoking cigarettes with one of those fancy long holders.
I know that really I'm meeting my fat, old buddies but hey, a guy can dream.... -

This cocktail bar is more than your typical hotel bar. the entrance through the hotel is impressive with a motion screen showing new age art/videos and super seductive film clips.
Once inside the bar, it is dimly lit, tucked away with a chic ambience and seating arrangement & with great service - perfect for a post dinner night cap (which is what brought us there)
They have oysters on the menu & a pretty extensive late night food menu (we ordered oysters late night and were not disappointed)
Also! They can create a drink of your liking with you naming the spirit alone (nicely executed mixology!) -

Mmmm, so vast the English language.
The Hotel Deluxe is one of my favorite places. When I arrive, I stay put. Why venture out into hipster hell when you have one of the (imho) mix masters ever, Spencer at the Driftwood lounge. Happy hour twice per day. "hey Spencer, i do not know what i would like, please decide for me". and it rocks.

Oooh, surprise date night was here and it was fantastic. Service was excellent. On point, but not close to being pushy. Large cocktail menu, I had a champagne cocktail that was on the sweet side. (What can you expect with a champagne cocktail?) and then a gin, absinthe,ginger situation that was incredible. My husband had two spirit forward whiskey cocktails that were just perfect.
We had the cheese board too. For a happy hour cheese board, or felt good sized like any full priced cheese board. Great array.
Will definitely be back. -

This lounge is located inside Hotel deLuxe in the Goose Hollow neighborhood. I first came across it when I had brunch at Gracie's with some friends. In daylight, it was a dark bar. Even more so after the sun sets. But not a dark dingy kind of bar. The ambience has an elegance to it that I would bring out-of-town guests here.
We sat down at one of the tables and immediately the bartender came over with menus. Aside from cocktails, Driftwood Room also offer small bites if you're hungry for snacks. I ordered the Mallory Man Manhattan and hubby had the Manhattan sampler. The cocktails were fantastic and very creative! Service was so friendly and quick too. If you're looking for classic cocktails before or after dinner, this is a great place to check out!
